Located in Balagne, in the Fango valley, in the heart of Corsica's Regional Nature Park
An exceptional environment
The village of Manso nestles in the Filosorma (or Falasorma) in Balagne, a fertile region often referred to as "the garden of Corsica", in the shadow of the island's highest peaks, under the protection of Paglia Orba, Punta Minuta and the famous mountain Le Capu Tafunatu (2,335 m).
Steeped in history and agro-pastoral tradition, Manso proudly preserves the memory of the place. This is where the shepherds of the Niolu used to spend the winter with their flocks.
The valley, classified as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and Natura 2000, is surrounded by majestic oak forests, including the Fango yeuseraie, a holm oak forest unique in the Mediterranean, as well as laricio pines, maritime pines and eucalyptus.
The backdrop is the breathtaking Grande Barrière, the northern face of the Paglia Orba massif. This is the setting for the famous Rivière du Fango, which rises at the foot of Capu Tafunatu and flows into the Gulf of Galéria. Its crystal-clear, high-quality waters have earned it the "Wild River" label. Its crystal-clear waters form natural pools ideal for swimming.
The environment of rocks, stones, natural pools and waterfalls is magnificent! Diving and tobogganing are the order of the day on a summer visit. A real pleasure!
